I automatically start to radiate whenever I cycle across the Westerdok and see that gentle giant standing in the distance. Silent and robust at the Houthaven. The reassuring certainty that you know where you are.

Pontsteiger is unique. Striking in its design. Grand, on the waterfront. Pioneering in the Houthaven, the up-and-coming Amsterdam neighborhood where history still resonates through frayed edges and creative initiatives. Living in Pontsteiger provides extraordinary freedom. Endless space, and ditto privacy. With a phenomenal view over Amsterdam and far beyond.

Pontsteiger is a sturdy and robust construction, designed by Arons and Gelauff Architecten, consists of 252 rental homes (bought by Bouwinvest), 66 luxury owner-occupied homes, a commercial plinth, a parking garage for 323 cars and 28 mooring platforms. A prestige project? Most certainly, but one with a fixture on its residents. Characterized by its supreme view, the best sun position and an optimal living layout. All this is structured into what has become the new towering icon of Amsterdam. Arons & Gelauff’s brilliant design is both perfect and daring.

NCD was responsible for the development on behalf of Dura Vermeer Vastgoed and De Nijs Projectontwikkeling. A passionate team of developers, builders, architects, interior designers, designers and brand strategists led by NCD have delivered an extraordinary performance. Not in the last place by its prompt and efficient design process, but also by an inspiring process in which the realization and consequent sale of Pontsteiger has resulted in a new start in the development of the Houthaven!

Thank you for a great collaboration on a great track. It has arrived! The bar for teamwork in our profession has been scarily high since Pontsteiger.
Arnoud Gelauff (architect)
